The American Center in Moscow is a public library modeled after an American library. It provides library and reference services and hosts cultural and educational programs for up to 300 visitors a day. The Moscow Center is the largest in a network of 25 American Centers and Corners (www.amcorners.ru) across Russia. Patrons of the American Center have attended lectures on topics ranging from the history of racial tolerance to the poetry of rock and roll. Visitors can watch award-winning films, chat with native speakers of English, read Business Week or Architectural Digest and then check out their favorite novel to read at home. Both students and teachers conduct research at the American Center library. Representatives of the press, non-governmental organizations, business, and cultural and educational institutions hold seminars at the American Center and come to the Center for current, accurate information about the United States.

American Councils for International Education: ACTR/ACCELS is a not-for-profit educational, training, and consulting organization specializing in the countries of Eastern Europe, Russia, and Eurasia. American Councils programs include academic exchange, professional training, institution building, research, materials development, technical assistance, and consulting. Founded in 1974 as the American Council of Teachers of Russian (ACTR), American Councils has worked to advance research, training, and materials development in the fields of Russian and English language; strengthen communication within and between the communities of scholars and educators in language, literature, and area studies in the United States and Eurasia; and further educational reform through education, training, and institution building.

One of American Councils’ newest initiatives is is the U.S. Graduate School Consortium, which
links prospective students who are qualified to study at the Master's or Ph.D. level with U.S. institutions.

The School of International Service, at American University, was founded in 1957. President Dwight D. Eisenhower, presiding over the groundbreaking, charged the school with a distinct mission: “to wage peace.” Since then, SIS has continued its commitment to the field of international relations and advancing human dignity around the world. That tradition continues today, as SIS offers eight professionally-oriented master's degree programs including: Comparative and Regional Studies (Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe, Middle East, Russia and Central Eurasia), Global Environmental Policy, International Communication, International Development, International Economic Policy, International Politics, International Peace and Conflict Resolution, and United States Foreign Policy. Founded in 1962, The American University of Paris is the oldest American institution of higher learning in Europe. This consortium of 17 prominent boarding schools in the U.S. and Canada was established in March 2005 by American Councils with the goal of providing Russian children a truly unique and previously unavailable opportunity to study at the most prestigious independent schools in North America.

The Consortium membership includes the world renowned Deerfield Academy, which has a long history of educating students who go on to become prominent political and business leaders, West Nottingham Academy, one of the oldest American boarding schools, the famous Webb Schools in California, and Canadian Appleby and Trinity Colleges. California State University, East Bay, offers graduate studies in Finance, Strategic Management, and Marketing in Moscow, and undergraduate, graduate, and English language studies in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Moscow MBA is offered in partnership with the Institute of Business and Economics and is fully accredited in the United States. Qualified Russian managers study a two-year American MBA curriculum taught by Russian and American professors. The Moscow program was established at the Academy of National Economy in 1993 and is the first accredited American MBA in the Russian Federation. Over 720 Russian managers have completed the program, and 200 are currently enrolled. Kariera Magazine has ranked the program the # 1 MBA Program in Russia since 1998. In December 2000 the program was also ranked Number One by an Expert Committee of the Russian Ministry of Education.

Foreign Languages and Study Abroad full-color magazine is published monthly with 40 pages plus cover and has a circulation of 25,000. It is distributed free at embassies, travel agencies, universities, colleges, libraries, banks and business centers. The magazine usually features the following three topics: information on educational consulting centers and groups, a main article, (the system of education of a country or a particular training program), and information on traveling and studying abroad–-personal insights of Russians who have traveled and studied abroad.

Established in 1946, Fulbright is the U.S. government’s oldest and best-known academic exchange program. Our goal is to increase mutual understanding between Russia and the USA using higher education. We enable Russian senior scholars to do research or teach at leading American universities. We provide grants for Russian university graduates to attend an American university in order to: pursue a two-year master’s degree program; spend one year taking non-degree coursework or conducting research in preparation for a kandidatskaya dissertation; or spend one year as a Russian language teaching assistant at an American college or university. We also arrange placements for American scholars and students at host universities across Russia. Fulbright grants are awarded annually through
merit-based, open competitions.

The International Fairs “Education and Career-XXI” are the largest educational marketing event in Russia. Since 1994 these Fairs have been held twice a year in Moscow and St. Petersburg. More than 300 educational institutions both from Russia and abroad come to the Fairs annually. “Education and Career-XXI” brings together language schools, colleges and universities. “Education and Career-XXI” is a widely acknowledged and respected event in Russia which is attended by students, language teachers, study abroad/travel agents, educational advisers, journalists and officials. The number of visitors tops more than 40,000. The Kennan Institute was founded as a division of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in December 1974 through the joint initiative of Ambassador George F. Kennan, then Wilson Center Director James Billington, and historian S. Frederick Starr. Named in honor of Ambassador Kennan's relative, George Kennan "the Elder", a nineteenth-century explorer of Russia and Siberia, the Kennan Institute is committed to improving American expertise and knowledge about Russia, Ukraine, and other states in the region. Through its residential scholarship programs, lecture and workshop series, and publication program, the Institute strives to attract, publicize, and integrate new research into the policy community.

The Kennan Institute offers residential research scholarships in the humanities and social sciences to academic scholars and specialists from government, the media, and the private sector. Eligible candidates include researchers and lecturers who hold at least Kandidat degrees. Particular preference is given to junior faculty members and to individuals pursuing projects on contemporary issues. All grants are awarded through merit-based, open competitions. The Kennan Institute is able to provide its scholars with access to libraries, research facilities, and human resources that are among the finest in the United States.

Minnesota State University Moorhead, established in 1887, is a public university dedicated to strong liberal arts and professional programs. MSUM enrolls approximately 7,500 students, nearly one third of whom live on campus. MSUM offers more than 100 majors, emphases and options, which lead to bachelor’s, master’s, and specialist degrees. Campus features include the Planetarium and Science Center telescope and observatory, art gallery, electronic music lab/recording studio, glass blowing studio, TV studio, radio station, greenhouse, and a materials testing and metallurgy lab in a state-of-the art science building. Since 1996, Pericles ABLE has been Moscow’s leader in providing an American legal education in Moscow, as well as providing GMAT, GRE and TOEFL preparation. We operate the first LL.M. (Master of Laws in American Business Law) program in Moscow with a full offering of legal skills courses.
